Acceptable stay with some issues

improper curtains sinking bed
The location was acceptable for exploring the area.
I had issues with the room itself. The window did not have proper curtains to darken the room COMPLETELY. the bed was sinking on one side, so my partner and I had to sleep separately.

fantastic stay!

spacious room daily refill great location
I found the room really spacious and nicely decorated. a kettle with coffee, tea, and milk sachets was topped up every day. towels were changed if i placed them inside the shower tray! the location was also great. I found lots of nice cafes nearby.
i found that the window didn't have curtains that could completely darken the room. it had blinds that didn't completely shut. also, there was no bedside light, which i found a bit inconvenient.
Location
9/10
the location offers proximity to key attractions and a bus stop right in front of the building. i noticed many excellent restaurants on bruntsfield place, leven street, and home street were nearby. the city center seemed only a short walk away.
Facilities
8/10
books were available in the reception, which i found to be a nice touch! these included history books related to the area and other guides. i also appreciated the staff allowing me to leave my bags before and after my stay.
Rooms
9/10
the room provided was a generous size with a comfortable bed, and the bathroom was newly renovated. i found the towels were changed daily if placed in the shower. i also noticed complimentary toiletries which was nice.

some cleanliness issues and a very thin mattress

dirty carpet thin mattress
I was really frustrated. the room was on the third floor and there wasn't a lift. It was exhausting. the mattress was so thin i could feel the wooden base, a joke. the carpet was visibly dirty, so our socks were ruined quickly. i also spotted mold in the shower, unacceptable.

Adequate Stay Near the City Center

friendly staff clean room great location small room bathroom outlet tiny nightstand
The staff were very friendly. The room was nice and clean. Oat milk was available in the room. This was a welcome addition, as usually only cow's milk is provided. The location is also quite good.
The room was small. There was little space for personal items (, made organizing difficult). There were no bathroom outlets. Nightstands were also quite small.

Excellent Stay with Great Amenities

fresh towels coffee station helpful staff central location
The room had a kettle with coffee, tea, and milk sachets replenished daily. Fresh towels were provided if the used ones were placed inside the shower tray (a sensible practice). The hotel location was great (easy walking distance to many attractions). The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions or requests.
The room was a bit small with minimal space for luggage.
Location
9/10
The hotel is near many restaurants on Bruntsfield Place and Leven Street. The city center is a short walk away. A bus stop in front of the hotel offers transportation options.
Dining
8/10
While the hotel no longer offers breakfast, several cafes are nearby. Treehouse Cafe and Quinn's Cafe provide convenient breakfast alternatives. Many restaurants are located on Bruntsfield Place, Leven Street and Home Street.
Facilities
9/10
The room included a TV (I did not use it ). Shampoo and body wash were supplied. A hairdryer and a little kettle were available in the room.
Service
10/10
The staff accommodated luggage storage on arrival and departure days (I found this particularly useful). The owner offered tips for exploring the city. History books were available at the reception.
